Saturday Fun Day Has Been Cancelled – Dec 12, 2019. We did not have enough people sign up for the games.
Hope to see you all THIS FRIDAY, DEC 13TH FOR OUR CHRISTMAS POT LUCK. Please make sure you have signed up in the cue house.
Attached are the Minutes from Dec 7, 2019 General Meeting. They will also be posted in the Cue House. Please read and hope you will attend next month. Ciao!
Please note there is a correction.
The sentence that reads: ” The Mayors Tournament will be held here and the dinner will be at Quail Hollow with Stan Williamson and Deb Evans are coordinating this. Invitations will be sent out once it is known who is eligible. ”
Should Read: ” The Master’s Tournament will be held here (Mar 19th) and the dinner we be at Quail Hollow etc.”
Please note that there have been changes to our 2020 Schedule. I will post new ones in the Cue house as well as on our website. Our End Of Season Banquet has been changed to March 25th.
The usual clean up crew arrived early to clean the courts for the Singles Mingles Challenge. Dennis Buelk collected the entry fees and signed up the shufflers. We had Seven (7) Pro/State Ams and Nine (9) Amateurs teamed up to play five matches of twelve frames each. After each match we recorded the winning scores and drew new courts. When we had finished playing, Dennis tallied up the scores and presented the winnings. The results were…PROS: 1st place: Bill Boyes, 2nd place: Dennis Buelk and 3rd place: Randy Radke. AMATEURS: 1st place: Tom Carbonell, 2nd place: Betty Buccini and 3rd place: Debbie Evans.
Just a reminder that we have Singles Mingles tomorrow, Tuesday Dec 10, 2019. We need to have more amateurs participate. We try to pair Amateurs with our Pros. Please come….The entry fee of $2 is won back in prize money. Four places in Pros and four places in Amateurs depending on how many players participate. Please come no later than 8:45 am if you want to play. We play five matches of twelve frames each match. We record the winners and the players who win the most matches and have the highest scores win the prize money. Hope to see you there. Ciao!
The Executive Board Meeting began at 10:00 am. Tom Carbonell, Johnnie Connor, Barb Fortini, Arlene Jabaut, Tom Grubb, Jerry Jabaut and John Fortini were present. Dennis Buelk and Allen Best were absent. They discussed how well the tournament had gone and congratulated Zak and his committee in dealing successfully with our sponsors. The minutes will follow at a later date. The meeting was adjourned.
The General Board Meeting began at 11:00 am. There were twelve (12) members plus the board in attendance. The minutes will follow. When the meeting was adjourned, several of the members stayed to play shuffleboard. I would just like to mention that we now have 154 club members. We would appreciate seeing more members next month since only twelve members attended this meeting. This club needs our member’s support in order to function more efficiently. These meetings occur only four times a year on the first Sat of the month from November thru March. Hope to see you next month. Ciao.
Our Tournament was a success with the help of all our wonderful volunteers. Tom Carbonell came the day before to set up the tables before Johnnie Conners came out to decorate all the tables. Tom also supplied us with his wonderful pulled pork sandwiches and soup. Rich and Candy Kordeleski, Arlene and Jerry Jabaut, John and Barb Fortini, and Mary McConnell helped to get the kitchen and the courts ready. We were pleased to welcome Ten (10) Amateur Teams and Seventeen (17) Pro Teams for the challenge. Bonnie Radke was the Director and with the help of Rick Enright, we got the tournament off to a smooth start. We also had some wonderful sponsors who supplied flyers and banners. Please visit our sponsors and let them know you are from the Coronado/Mainland Shuffleboard Club and would like to thank them for their support. Thanks to our volunteers who cleaned discs and swept courts during the tournament; Jack Koppelma, Barb Hales, Gerry Bousquet, Joan Sanford, the Kordeleskis and the Jabauts. Congratulations to all our Coronado Shufflers, visiting teams and finalists.
