Mayor’s Memorial Tournament – Jan 25, 2020

Our next upcoming event is the Mayor’s Memorial Tournament on February 4, 2020 at 8:30 Registration time. The Mayor, Russ Owen will come to open the Event and then we play a Singles Mingles style tournament. This is a perfect tournament for our Amateurs to experience a tournament. It costs $2.00 to enter, we play twelve frames and we play five games. The winner of each game writes down the scores. At the end of five games the 1st, 2nd and third winner of the most games in the Amateur and Pro categories with the highest scores gets the prize money.  Several volunteers would be appreciated to keep the courts and discs cleaned.  Would someone like to volunteer to bring a cake this year?  At the end of the tournament there will be sub sandwiches, chips and a drink to enjoy while we honor the members we have lost.

As this tournament is also a Memorial Tournament for the Eleven members we have lost in the last two years, Johnnie Connor has been working on the presentations.  We would appreciate all members to please come to meet the Mayor and to honor our lost members.  Hope to see you all there.  Ciao!

Singles Mingles Results – Jan 28, 2020

The clean up crew arrived early to clean the courts for the Singles Mingles Challenge. It was a bit cold so we only had Three (3) Amateurs and Six (6) Pros come to play. While we were playing Mike Beall was hard at work painting the white benches and the white wall along the bottom courts. Everything is looking beautiful in preparation for the Mayor’s Tournament on Feb 4th.  He certainly is doing a great job as Asst. Court Manager.

After playing five matches and changing partners after each match the final results were: PRO: First Place, Rex Galusha with all Five Matches, Second Place: Dennis Buelk and Third Place : Bonnie Radke. AMATEURS: First Place, Tom Grubb with all Five Matches and Second Place, Bruce Bancroft. Congratulations to everyone. See you back here next month for some more Singles Mingles.

Thank you to Mike Beall for all his hard work getting this beautiful sign for our club house as well as a new erase board inside for notices.

Barb Fortini let me know that. On our website…Karen Beall was a very big part of the signage. She did the computer work and printing of the lettering and designs. Please thank her too for all her beautiful work. It really brightens up the cue house.
