The Coronado/Mainland Shuffler

Friday afternoon the city of New Smyrna Beach paved the parking lot adjacent to the CMS courts with asphalt. Potholes have now been eliminated. Looks Good.

This morning the usual crew plus Tom Carbonell showed up to clean the courts and get them ready to play our Thursday Morning Four-Play Challenge. Twenty-Five (25) enthusiastic shufflers came ready for the challenge. We each played four matches.  At the end of play No One was able to win all four of their games. John Fortini returned to the courts following some alteration (band-aid) to his mug. To make him feel more comfortable, we all (instigated by Al Best) donned band-aids on our noses. We all had our backs to him when he arrived but turned around at once to cheer him up and welcome him back. Debbie Evans took a picture of all of us. We all had a good laugh.

Tom Carbonell set up the tables on Friday morning. We arrived at 5:00 pm to put down table clothes, placemats and make the tea and lemonade. Fifteen (15) hungry revelers showed up with their goodies. We had pork roast, baked beans, chicken, salads, rolls, shrimp on a stick, chocolate cake and tasty pie. Tom told us he had been in contact with Nidy about the paint bubbles on some areas of the the courts. Tom also introduced Rod and Donna Lewis as our newest members.   Joan said a prayer and we all lined up to eat. Not enough people to play Bunco so we cleared the tables and chairs before bidding each other a good night. Hope you can join us next month for some really good food and companionship. Ciao!

The clean-up crew arrived early to prepare the courts for the Thursday Morning Four-Play Challenge. Twenty-Four (24) enthusiastic shufflers showed up to play this morning. Hey guys, just a reminder that our August Pot Luck Dinner is next Friday, August 17th. So far we only have 6 people signed up. If we don’t have more people, we will have to cancel, so please either email me or sign up on the sheet in the cue house. Remember, ” we all have to eat somewhere” and it is more fun with friends. After each match we recorded the winners and re-drew for other courts and partners. Congratulations to Bonnie Radke for winning all four of her matches. This morning early Zack Wonson and Tom Carbonell wiped down the Courts and prepared them for the final waxing. Thank you to all our volunteers who showed up to help. Tom, Zack, Allen Best, Tim Pergrem, Bob Stock, Al Schroth, Dennis Buelk, Randy and Bonnie Radke. We were surprised to welcome Darrel Harman back who stopped by to say hello. When we were finished we stayed to play some shuffleboard. Enjoy the Courts.
