Executive Board and General Board Meeting – Dec 1, 2018

Saturday we held the Executive Board Meeting at 10:00 am. I will be posting the minutes later on. We had 8 board members present. Tom Carbonell brought the meeting to order.  Several issues were brought up that were important for the club. The General Board Meeting at 11:00 am had only 20 members (including the Exec. Board) attending. We had to table these important issues till next month’s board meeting ( January 5th) because the importance of these changes should not be left to only 20 members out of our  300 person membership without having more input from more members.

We discussed changing playing times for daily and Saturday play.  We need your input.  We were also discussing playing 16 frames instead of 75 points for tournaments held on our courts.  These two items will be discussed at the next meeting, so please attend because your input is important.

Rich Kordeleski held up five Cue Sticks that he has refurbished for the club to sell.  The money for the parts was donated by Angie and Denny Wyss.  We will be selling them for $25.00 each.  Please mark your calendars and lets have a good showing for the discussion of these important issues at our next board meeting in January.  Ciao!

November Fun Day – Nov 17, 2018

Although it was a bit nippy yesterday morning, we still had Forty (40) hearty souls show up for our November Fun Day Challenge. Thanks go out to Rich Kordeleski and his crew for prepping and setting up all the obstacles on the courts. We also like to thank the kitchen crew for the coffee and donuts before preping for the Hot Dog lunch after Fun Day play. We appreciate all the VOLUNTEERS who help make our club a success.  Al Best set up the teams and assigned the captains.  Then the players drew chips to see what teams they would be on.  After playing all twenty (20) courts and recording all our scores, we reconvened in the club house while Barb Fortini tallied the scores.  Kelly Keron (Candy’s daughter) won the 50/50.  Then Al announced the winners and handed out the winnings.

The Top Winning Team was Candy Kordeleski (Captain), Tom Carbonell, Jack Trosper and Bob Tager with a score of 1260. The Second Team was Bonnie Radke (Captain), Rose Sargent, Darrel Harman and Jane Tager with a score of 1190. The Third Team was Gerry Bousquet (Captain), Elizabeth Sharman, Mouse Wolven and Guy Godman with a score of 1100.

The TOP SCORERS  were: Randy Radke with 430; Bob Tager with 410, and Dennis Buelk with 380.

November Pot Luck Dinner – Nov 16, 2018

Last night we celebrated our Club’s 2018 Thanksgiving Pot Luck Dinner. We had  Forty-Three (43) people in attendence. The usual crew arrived early to set up and decorate the tables. We were missing Johnnie, who is still in Tennessee, so we were not able to use her festive Thanksgiving decorations. All our friends started arriving at 5:00 pm to socialize and welcome new members some of our returning snow birds. Plenty of wonderful looking food came as well. Thanks go out to John/Barb Fortini, Phil Wade and Barb Rush for cooking the turkeys. Tom Carbonell brought a delicious spiral ham. Bill Boyes won the 50/50. We all enjoyed a scrumptious dinner with desserts, then cleared away the tables and cleaned up the kitchen. This was followed by the usual challenging game of Bunco played by nineteen (19) enthusiastic gamers. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. We will see you back again for our Christmas Pot Luck dinner next month. Don’t forget to sign up for it in the cue house. Ciao!
