Thursday Morning Four Play – Sept. 12, 2019

The usual clean up crew arrived to clean and set up the courts for the Thursday Morning Four Play Challenge. Sixteen (16) enthusiastic shufflers showed up to meet the challenge and prepare for the upcoming tournament season starting Oct. 3rd in Deland. Randall and Rita Harman stopped by the courts to say hello to everyone and thank us all for our good words and prayers for Darrel Harman. Congratulations to Debbie Evans and Randy Radke for winning all four of their matches. We have only two more weeks left this season to play the Thursday Morning Challenge, so come on down. Ciao!

More info on Darrel’s Memorial.

Randall Hartman spoke with Pastor Steve today, and what I sent below is accurate. Everyone is welcome to attend 11:00 Church, or the 12:00 Potluck (please bring a dish) and/or the 1:00 informal “Remembrance” – which we estimate to be around 30 minutes.
New Smyrna Beach Bible Chapel
101 Hester Avenue.

We are holding an Estate Sale Friday and Saturday at his condo at 496 Bouchelle #104. It is being run by Sweet Memories and they are posting items/photos on estatesales.net.

We know how competitive Darrel was, so you probably all have stories we hope we hear at some point! We will be stopping by the courts on Thursday Sept 12th to say hello.  Hope to see you there.

Message From Darrel Harman’s family – 9/9/19

Randall and Rita Harman will be in New Smyrna Sept 11 through 16th. They have  contacted Darrel’s minister, and are waiting to hear back for more details, but looks like they have a regular Sunday service at 11:00, then they’ll have a 12:00 potluck with a brief memorial service for Darrel at 1:00. Everyone is welcome to attend all- but would be really nice if those who wanted to come just for the memorial would bring a dish and visit with us for the potluck too! More on that soon.

They plan to stop by the courts on Thursday morning to say hello to the shufflers, unless you have a different activity you’d recommend.

I will put up a further notice about the memorial service when I have it.

We had Seven (7) brave shufflers show up to play on one full and one round robin court. After all four games only Zak Wonson was able to win all four of his matches. Congratulations Zak. Following Dorian – Sept. 4, 2019

Stopped by the shuffleboard courts this morning after Dorian had moved on. Very little mess to clean up and a bit of water to be squeegeed, but looks like we will be able to play our regular Thursday Morning Four Play Challenge tomorrow. Will need a bit more clean up than usual, but unless it rains, we should be able to play.  Checked on the chickens and they seemed to have made it through the storm as well.

Thursday Morning Four Play , August 29, 2019

The usual clean up crew arrived to prepare the courts for the Thursday Morning Four Play Challenge. Eighteen (18) players showed up for the morning challenge. We played four matches changing partners and courts after each game and recording the winners of each match. After we cleaned the courts and checked the scores Randy Radke and Tiim Pergrem won all four of their matches. Everyone please stay safe during the coming hurricane and maybe we will be clear to play shuffleboard on Thursday. Take Care. Ciao!
