The Coronado/Mainland Shuffler

   I would like to thank the many people who responded to my question on what to do for our future tournaments.
It was unanimous in that we pre-register all our tournaments and that we have a minimim of eight teams
in order to play and award points. 
   This will start with ND09 11 Nov in DeLand. the pre-registration email is  NDSB@protonmail.com. 
The email will have to list each player and a contact phone number.  Email  from Noon Sunday  Nov 7th until 5 PM Tuesday  Nov 9th.
There needs to be a minimum of 8 teams to hold the tournament. Once we have 8 teams we will let people know that the 
tournament will proceed and more teams may still be able to register at DeLand on the 11th. WE NEED 8 TEAMS 
PRE-REGISTERED!
   The next tournament is ND10  Monday 15 Nov at Tavares (any AM Draw). You will need to pre-register from 8 AM Friday Nov 12th 
until Noon on Sunday Nov 14th.

For all State Amateur tournaments you must per-register at Tourn.Register@gmail.com.

The Hawthorne Shuffleboard Club was the host for the Northern District Mens and Ladies Doubles Tournament held on Oct. 28th and 29th.  Congratulations to all the players, and a special shout out to the members of the Coronado/Mainland Shuffleboard Club.

Just a Quick Reminder that regular shuffleboard play starts at 1:30 pm STARTING THIS MONDAY, NOV. 1. Saturday play will continue at 10:00am except Saturday, Nov 6, when it will follow the General Board Meeting which starts at 11:00 am.

Please Note that Singles Mingles will be held on the FIRST AND THIRD Wednesday of each month (Nov 4 and Nov 18) and it will begin at 11:30 am (probably be finished by 3:00 pm). Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to help us have an accurate count of players. Thanks for your attention to this notice.

Please note that we have Mahjong every Wednesday at 1:00pm in the club house. Debbie asked me to see if any more members are interested in playing.

Also, please note, with the hosts alone having to set up the courts, and so many people coming to play now that the weather is cooler, we need to have people arriving 15 minutes early so we know how many courts to set up. We have people arriving with only minutes till 10:00 and then the host has to redu the chips and possibly prepare another court. Please be courteous and come early. Thanks for your attention to this request.

Today Randy, Bonnie and Dennis set up the courts for the Singles Mingles Challenge.  We had Ten Amateurs and Eleven Pro/State Ams come to play.  We were all pleased to see that Chris and Joe Inga are back for the season.  I believe that this way of playing will help our amateurs become more comfortable with the game.

Yesterday we had a great time at the first “tournament” in almost two years. Thank you to Cindy and Zak Wonson, John Fortini, Dennis Buelk and Randy and Bonnie Radke who arrived early to set up the ten courts we were to use. We had a great display of all of our sponsors and everything was set before our players began to arrive. We limited the tournament to sixteen (16) Amateurs and sixteen Pros (16).

We had a very light sprinkle early on in the games, but over all the day was beautiful with a slight breeze. Everyone seemed to have an interesting day with our Amateurs learning a lot from our Pros. The day was meant as a practice for our Amateurs to see what a real tournament is like. All of the players finished on the first day except the First and Second Place Consolation Teams who will finish their matches this morning. Turned out a really close competition, with a good audience.   Congratulations to all of our players. Once again thank you to all our sponsors for their support.
