Some more pictures of day three of the Cue House Renovations. Mike did a great job with all the new lights. The paint job looks really good too. Lots of work. Can’t wait to see it all done.

Monday began with everyone hard at work on the Cue House. Courts are closed until the 8th so we can make everything sparkly and new. Mike, Cindy, Jerry, Charlie, Vaughn and Zak are hard at work. Joan Sanford and Mike worked on Sunday to get it all ready. Thanks guys we look forward to the finished job.

We play at 10am Monday through Saturday. Need to be there at 9:45. We also play at 6:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We will start playing a Singles Mingles game on Wednesdays starting on May 17th. We will play this at 9am and costs a dollar. We will be closed the first week of May as we are painting our cue house. We welcome all current members of shuffleboard clubs to come join us for summer play.
Hi folks. Want you to know that we will be closed for
shuffleboard starting May 1. We will be starting our redo
of the cue house and hope to be able to reopen for play
by May 8. The current plan is to empty the building, clean
it, paint the interior walls, ceilings, floors, benches, etc.
Mike will be installing all new light fixtures. I don’t see
any way to get all of our cues removed so we will not
repaint those walls. Just painting the ceilings there and
putting in new lighting. We plan to cover the cue area
with plastic so we should be fine. If you are concerned
please remove your cues.
We will be somewhat messy in the main building but we
should be able to still play mahjong, etc. during that
week. Thank you for your patience with this. It is long
overdue and will look great when finished.

Just a reminder from Carol Helfer.
Hi shuffler friends,
Just a reminder that Leesburg is having its first spring/summer monthly singles mingles this Wednesday. Play begins at 8:30 for five games and 12 frames format. Cost is $5.00 and a donation for the Leesburg food bank. We will have a 50/50 if you want to try your luck. Please let your members know that we welcome them. All entry money goes into prizes and depending on the turnout there will be prizes for pro and for amateur divisions. Hope to see you on Wednesday.

Some of us did not get to go to the earlier banquet and Bill VanLare was the winner of the Third Division Club Tournament for the year. Marilyn was nice enough to send me a picture of Bill with his trophy. Congratulations Bill!

Got a close up picture of Randy as well. With his First Prize Division One!
Suzanne has posted so many wonderful pictures from our Annual End of Season Banquet. Please visit our Facebook Group Page at CM Shuffleboard Club

These are the group pictures from the Masters Tournament. Thanks to all who participated and to all those support volunteers. Elvis serenading Carol Helfer.

The Leesburg Shuffleboard Club hosted the 2023 Masters Tournament. Rod Lewis was the Director and Gail Howell and Carol Helfer did a great job organizing the tournament and setting up all the food and entertainment for the Masters Banquet which followed the tournament. Stan Williamson was the MC for the night’s entertainment. There were trophy presentations, pin presentations and entertainment by Rick Enright as Elvis, Jim Faust playing his banjo and Zak Wonson and Joe Inga as Abbot and Costello. They presented George Snyder with an Iron Man Award for successfully playing in all Northern District Tournaments this season. Stan had some really big red underwear? Tom Brown and Gloria Boring were presented with the Frank Wilson Special Award for Amateur Winners of the TOC.
Ray Parlberg was well on his way to Hall of Fame when his wife became ill. He is now 89 years old and has done so much to promote the ND Shuffleboard that he was given an honorary entry into the Hall of Fame and presented with the traditional Red Jacket. Congratulations to all the shufflers, have a really great and safe summer.
