Coronado/Mainland Shuffleboard Club hosted the ND10 Pro Only and Amateur Only Tournament on Nov 30 and Dec 1, 2023. The weather started very chilly but soon warmed up. Our volunteers were there with hot coffee and donuts to get the day started and set up the courts. Cindy and Zak Wonson were our directors and our sponsors were Complete Health, Davis Bros HVAC, G&W Roofing, Highpoint Capital, NBS Homes, NSB Physical Therapy, Springhill Suites, State Farm Ins. Stellar Foot & Ankle, Town & Country Cooling, Kevin Para, Arlene & Jerry Jabaut, Gail Kadar, The Tivy Family and Cindy & Zak Wonson. Nov 4, 2023 Minutes

Regarding our winter weekly tournaments which start on Wednesday December 6. Each month through February we hold a weekly event on Wednesday.  We separate newer players and non tournament players from pros and play three games. A point is given for each game win on a full court and one and a half points for a round robin. We keep track of the points for four weeks and throw out the worst week. So, you can miss a week. Cost is $1 per week.  At the end of each four week period we pay the top three players in each division.  Has been very popular. We use the February numbers to seed players for our Club Championship. 

Good experience especially for newer players and the “seasoned vets”.

Players need to be here no later than 9:45 am in order to play!

Well We Tried! Everyone showed up on Friday, to try to register for this tournament. We had donuts, coffee and cookies as well as cards while we waited for the rain to stop. Several times we thought we might make it, cleaned the courts and then it started raining again. Took some time for lunch and socializing and finally cancelled registration and returned everyone’s entry fee. Hope to see you all back again for ND10 on November 30th for Pro Only Doubles and Amateur Only Doubles.

Unfortunately we have rain once again so the ND09 Any Doubles tournament to be held at the Coronado/Mainland Courts on Nov 16 will be delayed One Day to Nov 17 Friday. Registration on Friday no later than 8:30 am. See you there.

Tavares Shuffleboard Club hosted the ND08 Any Amateur Draw Tournament on November 14, 2023. Edward Jones and one Tavares Member were the sponsors. Rod Lewis was the Director.

The rain shortened the final day of the Tavares Nd08 but didn’t dampen
the players spirits. We were introduced to the new embedded beaded courts
and the play was enjoyable. there were 22 players making a draw for the 
eleven teams.

Yesterday the clean up crew waxed and cleaned the courts for our tournament on Thursday. I don’t want to jinx it but I really hope the weathermen are wrong this time. Cindy, Zak, Mike and Jerry worked so hard. Yesterday also was the Annual Flamingo Follies which made the parking interesting. Our ghost photographer was Arlene, thank you!

Deland Shuffleboard Club hosted the ND07 Mixed Doubles Tournament on November 9/10/2023. Richie and Carolyn Burrell were the Directors and the Deland Shuffleboard Club, Complete Wellness Medical Center and the Visconti Dental practice were their sponsors. The weather was beautiful and the courts were running well. Thank you to Deland for all their wonderful pictures.

Leesburg Shuffleboard Club hosted the ND06 Men’s Doubles and Ladies Doubles Tournament on Nov 2nd and 3rd, 2023. This year was a special occasion as the Tournament was named the Bob Brandt Memorial Tournament. Bob’s wife together with friends, Dave Dean and Yvonne Alberg generously sponsored the tournament with prize money and a plaque. Bob passed away three years ago but the family was pleased to see so many shufflers come to remember his name with the family. There was a quilt raffle and plenty of good treats to go with the coffee. The Director was Bob Robinson.

We a special picture with all the shufflers and one with the 90 years and over shufflers. The two days were very enjoyable and the weather was somewhat interesting with cold, wind, sun and clouds with a mixture of sprinkles.
