Today, July 16, 2015, we had 27 eager players participate in the Thursday Morning Four Play. It was, as expected, a humid sunny day with an appreciated balmy intermittent breeze. Eleven (11) players won three of their games but only Tom Andrick, from the Cambell Lake Club, won all four of his games. Everyone had fun enjoying another opportunity to play the game of shuffleboard in paradise.
Our CM Shuffleboard Club Member Profile for this month is on Ron Raymond who has been playing shuffleboard for about 21 years. He is 86 years old and has been one of our club Professionals since 2004. He was born and raised in Danbury, Connecticut and migrated to Edgewater 21 years ago from New Fairfield, Connecticut where he worked as a maintenance engineer. Ron has 4 grand children and 5 great grand children. He first played with the Edgewater Shuffleboard Club before they disbanded and joined up with the Mainland Club which subsequently merged with the Coronado Club to form in 2011 our present day Coronado/Mainland Shuffleboard Club. Ron, always volunteering to help out, is the person who placidly keeps us in-line, organized and on schedule for our Thursday Morning Four-play shuffleboard games. You may also sometimes find him playing on Sunday mornings with some of our other Pros; Dennis, Tom, Pete and Charlie who say that Ron is “One of the overall good guys”.
Thursday Morning Four-Play, July 9th, started out hot and humid. We had 27 enthusiastic players that produced the following four 4 game winners. Tom Rimmer (2nd winning week in a row), Charlie Jones, Edna Triplett and Pat Zern. We only have a picture of Edna because not all of the players who won their four games stayed at the end of play to have their pictures taken.
Thursday Morning Four-Play, July 2, 2015, was a really very good shuffleboard day, not too hot nor intensely humid, with a tiny bit of a welcoming intermittent breeze. Twenty-three (23) diverse people showed up to play. Tom Rimmer and Rex Galusha won all four of their competitive games. This was the second week in a row for Rex to be a four game winner.
Thursday Morning Four-Play on June 25th dawned hot and humid. 25 people showed up to play and have a great time. Rex Galusha was the only player to win all four of his games. Considering all the people who have gone on vacation and those who have gone for the summer, this is a respectable turnout.
Another beautiful day in paradise. Today dawned hot and humid, but we still had 24 players come for our regular Thursday Morning Four-Play. Many of our regulars have gone North for family reunions, vacations, etc. Phil Wade from CMS and Tom A. from a visiting club won their four games today.

I am sad to report that a dear old friend of Coronado Shuffleboard Club, Bob Donohue, died on April 2nd of a stroke. Bob and his sister, Jean Keefe and her late husband George Keefe were snowbirds from Windham, Maine for many years. All three of them were cribbage players as well, every Monday evening while they were in Florida. For the many members who remember Bob and would like to send a card to Jean Keefe, her address is 9 Sand Bar Road, Windham, ME 04062..

Today was overcast but very humid. We had 27 shufflers show up to play our regular Thursday Morning Four-Play. The four game winners are Mary Ann Pabst (CMS), Wayne Lockwood (CMS) and Jan Dally from Orange City. Please note that this is the second week in a row that Mary Ann has won four games.
PLEASE NOTE:
From now on it would be appreciated if the Four Game winners (who would like to have their pictures taken) could remain for a few minutes after the end of play for web site recognition pictures to be taken. It has been difficult and somewhat disruptive to take the pictures during the games, especially when there is the potential for multi Four Game Winners. Thanks.
