Thursday Morning Four-Play – May 31, 2018

The crew arrived early on this rain free morning to clean off all the rain puddles in order to make the courts ready for play. Twenty-Four (24) shufflers enthusiastically showed up in part as a relief from this past week’s incessant rain. We each were able to play all four of our matches this morning under sunny skies. After changing partners and courts between matches, we recorded our wins. Congratulations go out to Randy Radke for being the only shuffler to win all four of his matches. See you all again next week to meet for more fun and games. Ciao!

The Job is Done – May 25, 2018

So early this morning Tim Pergrem and Tom Grubb showed up to complete the job of painting the last set of shuffleboard court aisles. They planned to have it finished by Saturday, but because of the threat of rain, the job was done today. Thanks to all the volunteers who assisted Tom and Tim prep the courts before they rolled/ brushed the paint on. Our painting pros, Tom and Tim, did an outstanding job! Now we are ready for Nidy Sports to refinish the shuffleboard courts some time in July/August. Ciao!

Current Happenings in the Month of May

We have had nothing but rain for the past few days. Yesterday it finally was sunny and warm. Tom Grubb, Tim Pergrem, Tom Carbonell, Jerrry Jabaut, Randy/Bonnie Radke, Al Schroth and Rich Kordeleski all began power washing and cleaning courts 1 thru 20. After they had dried, Tom Grubb and Tim set to work painting the aisles on courts 5 thru 12. We taped off the courts and let them dry.

Today May 24th, Tim, Tom and Jerry came again this morning and taped off and painted courts 1 thru 4 while the other shufflers played the Thursday Morning Foreplay. When we all finished playing our four matches, the courts were cleaned. Tim, Tom, Tom and Jerry finished painting all the aisles from courts 13 thru 20. Now all we have to do is wait for the experts to refinish the actual surfaces of the courts some time in July/August. Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers who helped make this possible. We are especially thankful for the expertise of Tim Pergrem and Tom Grubb, our resident painters.
