Just wanted to remind everyone that it is time to pay our Annual Dues for the 2018 – 2019 Season. The first tournament starts on October 4th and you need your new membership cards by then. The usual morning cleaning crew showed up early to clean and prepare the courts for our Thursday Morning Four-Play Challenge. Eighteen (18) enthusiastic shufflers showed up to meet the challenge. This week was remarkable because Stan Williamson and Al Dronsfield came to play. When the dust had cleared only Dee Metz won all four of her matches, Congratulations! We only have three (3) more weeks of play till this challenge ends for the season. Hope to see all of you next week. Ciao!

The usual clean up crew arrived to clean and prepare the courts for the Thursday Morning Four-Play Challenge. Twenty-Two (22) ardent shufflers came for the challenge. We each drew for partners/courts, played four matches and recorded our wins at the end of play. We can congratulate Dennis Buelk, Charlie Jones and Guy Godman for winning all four of their matches. Monday the NSB Maintenance workers came back to complete lining the parking lot and resetting the yellow parking barriers. It is functional and looks neat. Thanks to our town’s Maintenance Department.

Friday afternoon the city of New Smyrna Beach paved the parking lot adjacent to the CMS courts with asphalt. Potholes have now been eliminated. Looks Good.

John Fortini returned to the courts following some alteration (band-aid) to his mug. To make him feel more comfortable, we all (instigated by Al Best) donned band-aids on our noses. We all had our backs to him when he arrived but turned around at once to cheer him up and welcome him back. Debbie Evans took a picture of all of us. We all had a good laugh.
Tom Carbonell set up the tables on Friday morning. We arrived at 5:00 pm to put down table clothes, placemats and make the tea and lemonade. Fifteen (15) hungry revelers showed up with their goodies. We had pork roast, baked beans, chicken, salads, rolls, shrimp on a stick, chocolate cake and tasty pie. Tom told us he had been in contact with Nidy about the paint bubbles on some areas of the the courts. Tom also introduced Rod and Donna Lewis as our newest members. Joan said a prayer and we all lined up to eat. Not enough people to play Bunco so we cleared the tables and chairs before bidding each other a good night.
