The Coronado/Mainland Shuffler

Debbie Evans wanted everyone to know that Mahjong has been going so well, she is now hosting Mahjong on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 pm till around 3:30 pm.

I also received a note from Bill Barney that he will be starting the Cribbage group again starting in November on Monday nights from 7:00 pm till about 9:00 pm and this will also be located in our club house.

The Leesburg Shuffleboard Club hosted the Northern District ND02 No Two Pros Tournament on Oct 5th and 6th. Vern Ivey was the Sponsor and Gail Howell was the director. Thank you to Carol Helfer for the pictures.

Today the Coronado Mainland Shuffleboard Cub hosted shuffleboard portion of the New Smyrna Beach Senior Olympic. Our President Zak Wonson along with help from Mike Beal, Joan Sanford, Gail Kadar and Mary McConnell helped guide the 13 Men Shufflers and 13 Female Shufflers through the game of shuffleboard.

On Oct. 19th, the Mid- Florida Lakes Shuffleboard club will be hosting the ND, No Two Pros tournament. They would like you to know that the Woodshop Club will be grilling lunch and they will have a bake sale featuring breakfast sandwiches.

If it is possible, could you please pre-register with the club so that they have an idea of how many shufflers are coming?  Players could do it directly to them at  rodlewis1317@protonmail.com.

Many of us are missing pre registration.

Sorry to notify everyone that the Northern District Tournament ND01 Scheduled for Sept 28 and Sept 29 in Deland will have to be rescheduled due to the weather. Please let anyone know that was planning to attend. Thank you.

Marilyn Mills sent me a notice to be posted on our website in the event some of our members would like to participate in the Clearwater two day Holiday Tournament.

Friday morning we had a new little chicken at the courts. When they opened the door to the cue house he came popping out! Be careful when you close up that “everyone” is out. He stayed with us the whole morning for protection from the big roosters. Hope he is still ok!

Hi folks. I want to to let you know about a change on our Board. After struggling to get back to shuffleboard from some health issues Anne Ferguson has resigned from the Board as Secretary. Anne did a great job and we will all miss her sage advice. We hope to see her back on the courts in the near future.
I have appointed Euri Roberts to take Anne’s place. Euri and her husband Larry are new members and have rapidly embraced the club. In addition to her duties as Secretary Euri will also open the club for play on Thursdays. Euri will serve until our March elections and at that time I hope she will run for an elected position. Since it has been so hot, there have been very few people at Singles Mingles so we have CANCELLED SINGLES MINGLES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

To Change Things up, this Wednesday (Aug 2nd), we will have COFFEE AND DONUTS AT 9:30 AM AND REGULAR PLAY AT 10:00 am. Thank you Zak and Cindy for this small social get together. Hope to see you all there.
