Once again Ron Raymond, Tom Rimmer and crew showed up early to prepare the courts for this morning’s Thursday Morning Four Play. We had Thirty (30) ebullient shufflers show up to have some more fun on our shuffleboard courts. Everyone played four matches. We had three players win all four of their matches: Carolyn Menosky, Tom Rimmer and Darrel Harman. Come join us next week for another exciting game of shuffleboard. Ciao!

Hi Folks, just a quick reminder that this Friday, May 19th is the next Pot Luck Dinner. Please remember to sign up in the cue house. Starts at 5:00 pm with Social Hour and dinner is around 6:00 to be followed by Bunco if we have enough people staying to play. Hope to see you there.
The CMS Club hosted a special event on behalf of some members of The Atlantic Center for The Arts (ACA). Jim Frost and Nancy Lowden Norman (Co-Executive Directors) organized a get together at the courts for Twenty-two (22) ACA members to come participate in a team building exercise utilizing the Club’s shuffleboard facilities.
Dennis Buelk oversaw this event with the help of club volunteers Rich/Candy Kordeleski, Randy/Bonnie Radke and Tom Carbonell. The ACA members all arrived around 5:30 pm for a short lesson and then took to the courts to learn how much fun it is to play shuffleboard on Flagler Avenue. After about an hour of fun and laughs on the courts, Clancy’s Cantina delivered takeout and the ACA participants all took a chow and beverage break. After the break, it was back to the courts for some more fun and games. Four (4) of the ACA participants had such a great time, they decided to join the club. We look forward to seeing them again. We send out a big Thank You to our ACA guests and volunteers in making this a memorable evening for everyone involved.

Every scuffler played four matches after a draw to randomly select new partners and opponents. Rex Galusha was the only shuffleboard player to win all four of his games. Way to go!

Wednesday night, May 10, 2017, the CMShuffleboard Club hosted some of the graduates from the University of Central Florida School of Photography. With some help from volunteers, Dennis guided eight (8) students and two teachers, Justin Nolan and Laine Wyatt, through the rules of shuffleboard. Then we set up two courts before the fun began. For the next couple of hours there was laughter as the students discovered shuffleboard was not as easy as first expected. They challenged each other for the fun of it. Thank you to Dennis and the volunteers for making this a fun evening of shuffleboard. We would like to thank the students for their donation to our club for their use of the courts and our time instructing them. Hopefully some of them will return to play again and/or join the club.
Allen Best would like to once again thank Wayne Lockwood for the donation he gave to our club to purchase new discs. We have narrowed it down to two suppliers for the new discs. The club will have new seasoned matched discs before the end of the summer. We drew partners and courts and played four games with a new partner and court each game. As part of the social aspect of the shuffleboard summer programs, Bob and Dinah Stock will be hosting the Summer Euchre games beginning on Wed., May 3rd. They will play at 2:00 pm at 1999 Turnbull Lakes Drive, New Smyrna Beach. Thursday Morning Four-Play started out with a few shufflers at 8:40 am and ended up with Thirty-Four (34) by 9:00 am. Ron Raymond and Tom Rimmer had the courts all swept and beaded ready to rock and roll. Phil Wade was the only player to achieve four wins.
