Dorine Bessette

Dorine Bessette – Player Award 2013 HOF Awards
Northern District – Daytona
Dorine is from Springfield, MA and came to Florida in 1992.  She started playing shuffleboard in 1993 and made Pro in 1996.  Dorine wants to thank Joyce Harless and Jean Smith from her early days of playing.  Also, thanks to her friend, Edna Triplett, who she played with at least the last 5 years and had a good time doing it.  Dorine and her husband, Al, have been married 52 years and have 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

I was very saddened to hear from Edna Triplett that Dorine Bessette had passed away. She was a long time shuffleboard player and was inducted into the Florida State Hall of Fame from the Northern District in 2013. She and her husband were always involved in the Coronado Mainland Club until Al passed away. They will be sorely missed by those who knew them.

Doreen and Al Bessette were members of the Mainland Shuffleboard Club, where Al was president in 2010 during the merger of the Mainland and Coro0nado clubs.
