Our February Pot Luck Dinner was set up with tables, chairs, placemats, coffee, tea and lemonade by Marguerite, Paul and the crew. The social hour began as the members arrived with their goodies. Joan Best collected for the 50/50 and the tables began to fill with around 40 plus members. We were joined by some brand new shuffleboard members and social members. Mary Harlow brought her sister Peggy from Virginia. Felix (the Cat) and Mary brought their friend Joan.
Allen Best welcomed everyone and asked if anyone had heard news about Wayne Lockwood and/or Penny Boyes. At that time there was no recent news. We said a silent prayer for them and others who were missing.
Allen listed off the upcoming events and asked that everyone join us at the Mardi Gras Parade on February 28th and sign up as volunteers for our Anniversary Celebration Day on March 4th. We were also still looking for volunteers for the Masters Tournament on March 23rd and 24th. Just before we lined up for food, Peggy drew the 50/50 ticket which Mouse Wolven won.
Everyone lined up in an orderly fashion to partake in the wonderful food. So much to eat and so good. After dinner, the tables and chairs were put away and those who were staying for Bunco retired to the clubhouse room to play. If we missed you this month, hopefully you will join us next month on March 11th for our end of season Anniversary Celebration Dinner. Tickets are still being sold for $20.00 per person for a wonderful meal to be catered by That’s Amore’. Please join us. Ciao!
