Last night we held our Christmas Pot Luck Dinner. Johnnie, Betty and Felix came early and did a wonderful job of setting up the tables and decorating them with Poinsettias, Christmas hats and festive place settings. Johnnie also provided personal pictures of club members in Christmassy card frames for everyone to enjoy. Approximately 40 club members began arriving at 5:00 pm. Mary McConnell was collecting the 50/50 at the door.
Allen Best and Joan had company from out of town so Johnnie Connors (VP) took over the President’s duties in between taking pictures of almost everyone who had arrived. She had us say a silent prayer for those who were missing and John Fortini reminded us to say a special prayer for Wayne who is North with his children. We then filed out in an orderly fashion to sample the bountiful and delectable Pot Luck dishes. Arlene Jabaut and Barb Fortini home-cooked two scrumptious hams that were donated by the club. Everyone else supplied the delicious sides and desserts. Arden drew the 50/50 raffle ticket and Betty announced the winning number which Mona Carkner was lucky enough to have.
After dinner everyone helped with the clean up and some members (enough to occupy three tables) stayed to play Bunco. We thanked everyone for a wonderful evening and wished all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
