Friday evening’s monthly Pot Luck Dinner had 30 peckish club members savoring some wonderful culinary delights. It was hard to fit so much of the wholesome edibles on the tables. Our club President, Allen Best, introduced our newest member, Jean Minerd, who came to enjoy the food and have some fun. Allen also mentioned that he had recently met the new City Recreation person (who took Liz Yancey’s place) and that she assured him the courts were safe. He asked everyone to be thinking about what we could notably do for our club’s 80th Anniversary, which we will be celebrating throughout 2017. Allen also asked us to give silent prayers for those who had lost their lives in the recent terrible Orlando terrorist shootings.
Barb Nephew won the 50/50 drawing and thereafter, our most senior member, Bud Barker, led the way to the banquet table. We talked about summer trips that some would be taking and the shuffleboard games we had played. When we were finished, the tables were quickly cleared, the dishes washed and those who were staying prepared for the challenge of throwing the dice in Bunco. Hasta la vista!
