Volunteers are needed

The CMS Club is hosting The Northern District Tournament on our courts this Thursday and Friday. This Tournament does not run itself. We need Volunteers to help with the courts and the discs throughout the tournament. We also would appreciate a good turn out of our members to cheer on the participants. So far I have one person signed up to help. Please help support your club and the other members. The morning volunteers on Thursday need to be at the courts by 8:00 am to help set up. We appreciate your participation in this event.

A Note From Sigrid Reichert

Sigrid Reichert put a comment on my note about Jeannette Gagnon.   No One let me know this.   Our prayers are with you Sigrid and we hope you are returning for the winter.

“My husband Jim Reichert also passed away in July. He was a member of the Edgewater Club, Mainland Club and for a short time Coronado before he became disabled.”

Jeannette Gagnon

Joan Best sent a notice to me from Leo Gagnon’s niece that her aunt, Jeanette passed away in July and that Leo Gagnon has dementia and will not be back to the New Smyrna area. Joan sent a sympathy card from the club…I have an address for Leo: 7 Lilac Dr, Gorham, NH 03581… thanks a lot!

Leo was a member of Edgewater Shuffleboard and then joined Mainland when Edgewater closed.  He then joined CMS when the two clubs were combined.  He made the Northern District Hall of Fame in 2013 and enjoyed playing in our Intercity competition.  Jeanette was a social member of our club.  They will be missed.

GORHAM – Jeannette R. Gagnon, 82, of Gorham, died on July 11, 2018. She was born in Berlin on September 13, 1935, the daughter of Louis and Maria (Bernier) Gagne. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and she and her husband lived in many places during his military career of service in the USMC.

Family includes her husband Leo P. Gagnon of Gorham; brothers Paul Gagne of Nashua and Marcel Gagne of Berlin; sister Lucille LaPlante of Berlin; and several nieces and nephews.

Sixteen (16) enthusiastic players showed up for all the fun and games. We explained the shuffleboard rules of the game to the participants who each played three matches of sixteen frames.
