The Coronado/Mainland Shuffler

The Executive Board met this morning at 10:00 am in the Club House. Seven (7) board members attended with only Tom Grubb still up North. The minutes of the meeting will follow at a later date. The General Club Board  met today at 11:00 am and Twenty-One (21) members attended. Following the meeting most of the members remained for regular shuffleboard play. Hope to have more members attend next month.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE NOW IN NOVEMBER. Our Annual Dues are to be paid in October.  You can pay your dues at the courts to one of the regular members. Your membership card will be placed on the wall of the Cue House for you to pick up. The list of current paid members is on the clip board. Thanks

Our first Club Board Meetings on Saturday, Nov 2. The Executive Board meets at 10:00 am and the Full Club Meeting begins at 11:00 am. We have our first Inner City Tournaments of the season beginning this Wednesday. Please check with your captains to see where and if you are playing.

Please also remember that we switch to our Fall Season Play starting November 1. We will be playing daily at 1:30 pm on Friday.

Mid Florida Lakes hosted the Northern District No Two Pros Tournament this week. Their sponsors were All Florida Weatherproofing and Suter Air Conditioning. The Directors were Steve Smith and Jeff Geesey. Thirty-one (31) teams of Amateurs and Pros registered for the challenge. Our very own Rex Galusha won the 50/50. We need to congratulate the three Amateur Women from Coronado/Mainland who placed in the tournament. The winners were:

PLEASE NOTE: For those who have been enjoying the Saturday Morning Shuffleboard Clinic hosted by Stan Williamson and Gary Deso. Now that the new Quail Hollow Courts have been finished, the clinic will now be hosted at the Quail Hollow Courts located on Pioneer Trail at 8:00 am Saturday Mornings.  All are welcome to attend.   Hope to see you there.  Ciao!

It is with a heavy heart that we forward the news of the passing of Sue Insinga. Despite her longtime illness, Sue fought bravely, always had a smile for everyone she came in contact with, and she truly made this a better world.

Please keep Phil, her family, and numerous friends in your thoughts and prayers. To all that knew her, keep your memories of Sue close to your heart.

The usual clean up crew arrived to prepare the courts for our first Singles Mingles Challenge of the season. Dennis Buelk registered the participants and collected the entrance fee. We had eight (8) Pro/State Ams and six (6) Amateurs. He explained the game and handed out the chips for the first match. We played five matches, recording the winners of each match upon completion. When we had finished all five matches, Dennis tallied up the scores while the rest of us cleaned the courts.

After adding up the scores, we congratulate the Pro/State Am winners: First Place: Zak Wonson, Second Place: Bob Tager and Third Place: Bonnie Radke. The Amateur winners: First Place: Bruce Barbre, Second Place: Michael DeNato and Third Place: Rich Kordeleski.

We will be playing the Singles Mingles Challenge every second and fourth Tuesday of each month thru March 2020 beginning at 8:45 am.  Hope to see you there.  Ciao!
