Results from Wed, Feb 16 Singles Mingles

Yesterday when we arrived at the courts it was still raining We waited a bit and then Dennis, Randy and Bonnie dried and readied the courts for the Singles Mingles Challenge.

We had Nine Amateurs and Six Pro/State Ams come to play.  The next Singles Mingles is Wednesday March 2nd at 11:30 am. Thanks to Dennis for all the hard work.

Pros/State Ams
First Place:  Bonnie Radke with 304 points (5 games)
Second Place: Dennis Buelk with 119 points (4 games)
Third Place:  Bob Tager with 197 points (3 games) 

Amateurs
First Place: Jack Koppelman with 324 points (5 games)
Second Place: Marilyn VanLare with 221 points (4 games)
Third Place:   Dennis Schaefer with 209 points (3 games)

Hope to see all of you for our next Singles Mingles.  Let’s see if we can’t get some more shufflers to come for the challenge.  This is really good practice for the Northern District Tournament Here on our courts on February 24th.  Our Tournament is for Amateurs only and Pros Only so we need to get our Amateurs paired up with other Amateurs.  See you on the courts.

Results from The Monday January Tournaments

Monday was the awards day for our January month long Monday tournaments. Zak read off the names of the winners. We began February’s month long tournament with the top players from this month qualifying for our final tournament in March. Come on down to the courts and lets see how many of you can qualify. Good exercise, good companionship and all round good time.

Amateur:
First Place: Dave Hall with 8.75 points
Second Place: Sue Comeau with 8 points
Third Place: Jack Koppelman with 7.75 points

Results from the Northern District N25 Tournament

Deland was the host for the Northern District N25 Any Doubles Tournament on Feb 3rd/4th.  The weather was beautiful with intermittent sun.

There were 20 teams and the sponsors were Walt Bartels and the Deland Shuffleboard Club.  Congratulations to all the players especially those who declare for the Coronado Mainland Shuffleboard Club.

Singles Mingles Results from Feb 2, 2022

Today Dennis set up the courts for the Singles Mingles Challenge.  We had Ten Amateurs and Eight Pro/State Ams come to play.  The next Singles Mingles is Wednesday February 16th at 11:30 am. Thanks to Dennis for all the hard work.

A Group of New Members

On Monday, Cindy, Zak, Arlene, Jerry, Stan and Marty Bystrom all joined together to help train a group of 27 new members to our shuffleboard club from the New Smyrna Yacht Club. They had a great time and really enjoyed learning a new “sport”. Welcome to our club! See you on the courts.

Results from Singles Mingles 2/19/22

Today we set up the courts for the Singles Mingles Challenge.  We had Thirteen Amateurs and once again only Five Pro/State Ams come to play.  I believe that this way of playing will help our amateurs become more comfortable with the game but we need to get more Pro qualified people participating to help them learn.   The next Singles Mingles is Wednesday February 2nd at 11:30 am. Thanks to Dennis for all the hard work.

Northern District Tournament Jan 27th

Hello Everyone, Just a reminder that the Coronado Mainland Shuffleboard Club will be hosting the Northern District ND#24 No Two Pros Tournament on January 27th. We will be needing Volunteers to assist the tournament players during the day. We will also be notifying you of a clean up day prior to the tournament.

Please Note:  We have two amateurs, who have been playing very well, that need partners for this Tournament.  This tournament is good experience for all our amateurs so please contact them.

Obituary

Frances passed peacefully on December 21, 2019 at the age of 90, embraced by the love of her family.  For those older members of our club who knew Francis. She was one of our life members who gained her Pro status in 1987. She lived in Ontario, Canada and you can read her full Obituary here

  1. If a tie game results at the game point (75) or over, play is continued in regular rotation of play, until two full rounds in Doubles or one full round in
    Singles is completed. At that time the side with the higher score wins, even if it has less than 75 points or the number of points specified as game
    points. If the score is tied again, play continues again as above outlined
