Hello Everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday, Merry Christmas and this weekend HAPPY NEW YEAR! To welcome in the New Year we are planning our first Pot Luck Dinner of the season and we are hoping you can all come to welcome back our Snow Birds. Social hour usually starts around 5:00 pm with dinner between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm depending on the announcements.

The sign up sheet has been posted in the Cue House for everyone to sign who is coming and what they will bring to share. Please remember to BYO if you would like anything alcoholic to drink and remember your plates and silverware. Hope to see you all there. Happy New Year.

I have been notified by Tom Basner, President of Holiday Travel RV that the upcoming Amateur Tournament, ND16 which is scheduled for January 15, 2024, has been moved to Hawthrone.  Their courts are being refinished and Hawthorne has agreed to assist them.  Thank You Hawthorne Shuffleboard Club.

Please make sure your Amateurs are notified of these changes, so they don’t go to the wrong location.  

The Leesburg Shuffleboard Club kindly hosted the ND13 Any Amateur Draw Tournament originally scheduled for Holiday RV Village on December 18, 2023. Gail Howell was the Director and Holiday RV Village was the sponsor. There was no 3rd and 4th in the Main or Consolation. Congratulations to all the shufflers. Merry Christmas to Everyone!

Please note that Pre-Registration is necessary for the State Redline Tournament A11 on Dec 26th to be played at Mid-Florida Lakes. Please Send an Email to tourn.register@gmail. Amateurs must register to ensure there are at least ten teams playing.

Coffee and doughnuts will be available as well as hot pizza for lunch being offered.
The State has put in $400. to be used as payouts to the Main and Consolation winners. Registration is open until 9 AM on Dec 26th which is a Tuesday.

I wanted to let the club know that the City of New Smyrna Beach has finally installed our brand new benches. They are really wonderful, all made from composite materials so they will be with us for a long time. Thank you NSB.

Two Notices:
Evening shuffleboard has been extended to three nights a week. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30pm. Please arrive at least ten minutes early to help set up. thank you.

We have Five open Positions on our Board of Directors and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help organize our club. These positions will be voted on in March. Eurima, our secretary, has decided to remain on the board.

The club president, Zak Wonson, has resigned from his position. I would like
to thank him for all he and Cindy have done for our club. 
I would like to let you know that I , Joan Sanford VP, have assumed the duties of the President for the remainder of the term.
I have also appointed Tony Angelo to my vacant position of VP. Please thank Tony for accepting the acting VP position. 
Remember there will be an election for new officers in March 2024, these are 2 years terms. There are many term expirations coming up. If you are interested in running for office please let the Nomination Committee know.
