We had a wonderful time Tuesday night 3/31/15, playing shuffleboard under the lights with members and passers-by that were curious about our games. As a reminder, we have shuffleboard at night every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 pm. Come a little early to help set up the courts and get your court assignments. Last night we had four courts in full play.
Saturday March 28th the Coronado/Mainland Shuffleboard Club and the SPARC Group met for the last time this year to give out achievement awards to the participants and play shuffleboard one more time together.
This Organization provides social, recreational, and sporting activities for people with developmental disabilities. Our shuffleboard club has been sponsoring a program with SPARC this year with CMS member, Bill Boyes as the coordinator. We wish to thank all the CMS workers, Joan Best, Arden & Mary McConnell, Roland Gilles and Rich Kordeleski, as well as the parents Pat Harper, Edna Fager and Phyllis Deitsch.
The youngsters who participated were Wayne Malcolm, Tommy Fager, Erick Harper, Sierra Harmer, Kelly Duff and Emily Furrano (not present). They had a really good time and seemed to learn quite a lot about shuffleboard from the CMS workers who gave them guidance and support.

CONGRATULATIONS TO WAYNE, REX, DENNIS AND MARY ANN for a battle well fought. It was really tough competition.

The first Monday in April is April 6…that’s when the time changes from 1:30 to 10…(good idea to be there @ 9:45 to get courts ready and pull chips for courts)
Congratulations to our members competing in the Tournament of Champions and competing throughout the year. Here are the results for the year for the Pro Men, Pro Women, Amateur Men and Amateur Women.

1. End of Season Banquet, March 21st from 5 PM
2. Final Singles Mingles match March 24th from 9 AM to 3 PM, Bring Lunch!
3. Pot Luck Dinner April 24th, Sign Up sheet is on the board in the club house. The question has been asked, “Can you keep your lifestyle in Retirement?” Come join Jeff Toadvine from Ameriprise Financial. If you will bring the sides and the questions, he will provide the protein (meat) for the meal and the answers.
The “summer” season is from April 1st to the end of October, and we start play at 10:00 in the morning when it is cooler, Monday through Saturday. We also play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 9 PM. Because a majority of our members travel north for the summer, we do not schedule any special club events during the summertime.
We will also be having Thursday games consisting of 4 games beginning at 9 AM.
Evening play is year-round, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM.
Visitors and passers-by are welcome to sit and watch and ask questions about the game. If there is time, we may be able to let you try a few shots!
