CMS Club Member Profile

Bud Barker is our most senior member (93 years young). He is originally from Mount Sterling, Illinois and moved to NSB 15 years ago by way of Deltona. Bud has been in Florida for approximately 40 years and has been a member of the CMS club for the past 18 years. He was playing a couple of weeks ago with Randy and proceeded to put him in the “kitchen” more than once. Upon playing the winning disc, he gleefully muttered under his breath, “don’t mess with the old man.” His play is not a fluke because in last Thursday’s “Four-Play” he won all four of his games. Keep on shuffling Bud!

Thursday Morning Four-Play 4/30/15

31 Shuffleboard players participated in the Thursday Morning Four-Play.  The weather was cooler than expected and a bit breezy.  Many of the players had to go back to their cars to retrieve jackets and sweaters.  As usual, we had a very good time meeting up with our friends from other local towns.

CMS Club Member Profile

Jane and Bob Tager have been highly regarded and loyal members of the CMS club for approximately five years. They have lived here for the past twenty years, both retired school teachers from Russell, Ohio, with four children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. This is a special year for the Tagers because this coming June, they will be celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary, a momentary celebration for a marriage that seems to be timeless. Congratulations on what will be a very rare achievement.

CMS Spring Potluck Dinner

The CMS Club had a Spring Potluck Dinner on Friday, April 24th. CMS members got together and brought a side dish to compliment the delicious barbecue, with sundries, supplied by Mr. Jeff Toadvine, a certified Financial Advisor and associate Vice President of Ameriprise Financial Services. Jeff gave a 20 minute presentation about the existing and ever changing public policy changes that can affect your retirement. In other words, “Expect the best, plan for the worst, and prepare to be surprised.” A few questions were asked of Jeff after the presentation and we are thankful for him sharing for we all at least learned something new. After dinner a few of us stayed to play shuffleboard under the lights. A good and informative time was had by all. PotL Fri-4-24-15 1

Saturday Morning Shuffleboard

CM Shuffleboard Club Member Profiles. Saturday, April 18th produced a wonderful morning for the CMS Club. We had four full courts and everyone had a great time including the two resident roosters who came by to visit. We are profiling CMS Club Members Bill and Carolyn Menosky. They started visiting the NSB area in 1984 and after several visits and a couple of moves, settled into Quail Hollow where they now reside. Bill and Carolyn came to NSB from Lakeside, Ohio and started playing with the CMS Club approximately 11 years ago. They are valued members and a credit to the spirit of the CMS Club.
