The Coronado/Mainland Shuffler

Thursday Morning Four-Play was attended by a total of 26 avid participants. We played through only two (2) games before mother nature greeted us with a shower that brought about a late morning rainout, causing us to clear the courts. This was a typical summer shower that usually shows up in the afternoon.

On Tuesday and Thursday nights we play shuffleboard practically in the middle of New Smyrna Beach off Flagler Avenue under the lights. Members bring their partners, family and friends to enjoy a stimulating evening of shuffleboard leading us, through sunsets and dusk, into the refreshing night air. This past Thursday night, in the summer doldrums of August, was no exception. We had four courts in play enjoying each others company with a lot of fun and laughter. Come join us (weather permitting) when we kick off our summer evenings of shuffleboard play at 6:30 pm every Tuesday and Thursday. The matches usually end at approximately 8:30 pm. Today dawned with almost 100 percent humidity, but we still had 23 avid players show up to enjoy the game. A great time was had by all while only three players ended up winning all four of their matches. Bob Tager, who must have practiced on board his recent cruise and Jan Dally won all four games played (both 2 time winners). Walt from Deland also won his four matches but did not remain for a photo-op.

Thursday Morning Four-Play is still very active and doing quite well in the warmness of August. Enthusiastic Four Play shufflers gathered to catch up with each other and receive their court assignments. We all had fun competing and learning about the strengths and weaknesses of our present-day game. Eagerly looking forward to the rest of the summer’s Thursday Morning Four Play.

Hi Everyone.   August 21 at 5:30 PM will be the next summer Pot Luck Dinner to be followed by some friendly Bunco. We have a list hung up in the club house so please sign up with how many people will be attending, what you are bringing and if you plan to stay and play Bunco. I have heard people say that they don’t cook and that is why they do not come. It would not matter if you stop at the store and pick something up to share, just come and enjoy the camaraderie. Hope to see you there!

26 players participated in the Thursday Morning Four-Play today. The three players able to win all four of their games are (l to r): Bob Tager, Tom Rimmer and Wayne Lockwood. Also it was a pleasant surprise to see fellow shuffler Joe Shebester, who stopped by to say hello and thank us for the kindhearted wishes he received from CMS Club members while he was in the hospital.

Hi Everyone. I have been thinking about a logo for the club. Something simple we can put on shirts, cups, signs. Is anyone aware of an existing logo?

I thought something simple like this would look nice on shirts, cups, jackets…..etc.   Please let me know your thoughts.   Thanks.

Thursday Morning’s July 23rd Four-Play had 24 eager participants. Allen Best and I (Bonnie Radke) won all four of our games. This is my second time around winning all four games on thursday morning, thanks to those CMS club members who continue to patiently work with me to improve my shuffleboard game.

This morning before our Thursday Morning Four-Play, Allen Best reported to the attending players that Joe Shebester had been admitted to Bert Fish Hospital in room 413 and that we should direct our thoughts and prayers to Joe. He is expected to be in the hospital a few more days.
