The Coronado Mainland Shuffleboard Club hosted the shuffleboard portion of the New Smyrna Beach Senior Games on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The weather was very hot and humid but everyone had a great time. Thank you to our volunteers who made this event possible: Zak and Cindy Wonson, Gail Kadar, Suzanne Musashe, Robert Boyd, Joannie Sanford, Jerry and Arlene all helped. We had around 14 women and I think 12 men participate. Congratulations to all.
Jack sent me an interesting article from the Garden & Gun magazine giving a really good history lesson on shuffleboard. Very nice article but they seem to have left the Northern District out completely. Coronado/Mainland Shuffleboard club is 87 years old with over 200 members. Just saying!

We have a friendly shuffleboard match between two number 1 ranked female shuffleboard players: the number 1 ranked Japanese shuffleboard player, Atsue, vs. the number 1 ranked female American player, Missy. This match was part of a visit to the Forest Tsuzuki shuffleboard club in Yokohama during a trip Missy and I made to Tokyo in May 2023. Playing in Japan was such an amazing experience and the Japanese shuffleboard community welcomed us with open arms. Thank you again to the Japan National Shuffleboard Association for being such kind and gracious hosts! The match commentary is focused on helping newer players learn about shuffleboard strategy.
I hope everyone is having a great summer. Until we start our tournament season, I have been posting interesting videos. I also have a very interesting article from Earl Ball I thought you might enjoy reading. It is a bit lone but full of really good pointers. Enjoy!
Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great summer. Jack sent me a great video of the National Shuffleboard Championship between the Chicago Club and the Brooklyn club! Loads to learn from watching. Enjoy

Previously sent two years ago but worth watching again with Earl Ball as commentator. He and Stan were shuffleboard partners years ago.
Just wanted to let our members know that the euchre part of Coronado/mainland club had a tournament for our members. We had a prize pool from donations of 100 dollars, 3 euchre tshirts , a bottle of wine and another donation of 25 dollars along with the entrance fee. We had 2 brackets with 4 winners in each bracket. For the ones who didn’t place in the money we had a drawing for the tshirts , wine and the 25 dollar donation. Everyone was a winner of something so there was no losers. A good time was enjoyed by everyone. I want to thank everyone who donated and participated. Thanks again, TIM
